Wow! I can't believe how time has flown since my last posting. First I would like to say that I hope that a good Thanksgiving was had by all. 2nd, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Well what has been going on in my gaming world? Well, I managed to almost complete the 12mm WW2 figs that I previously posted about. I am down to finishing two popsicle sticks worth of figs to paint. About 12 figs. I pushed myself and we were able to have two games so far with them.
The first was a play test of the rules. The rules are: Battlegroup, Panzer Grenadier. They are frustrating but in a good way! They are a good set of rules that so far..we have only made one house modification. We discovered that we had been doing a few things wrong. One member of our group has been in contact with the author and the author had clarified a few things. Plus, he had no problem with our house modification. The play test was with the suggested scenario in the rules book. It was a disaster for the Germans.
The 2nd game is still in progress. It is one part of the initial invasion of Russia..Operation Barbarossa. So far, the Germans are moving forward but the Russians are re-enforcing. It should be a German victory, but one can never tell. So far, as the Germans, our die rolling hasn't been too good. We managed to blow by the border guards and the crossings, but a damn Russian mg has manifested right where my artillery has set up.
Once the battle/game has been completed, I will try and post a report. However, I will more than likely have to post it 2nd hand. The game wasn't continued last week due to a shortage of players. I won't be over this weekend and I suspect, it may be completed without me.
